What are the uses of ultra-high strength carbon fiber?<br \/>\nT1200-grade carbon fiber is a high-performance material with a diameter only one-tenth that of a human hair. Yet, its tensile strength can reach over 8,000 MPa, equivalent to ten times that of ordinary steel, while its density is only one-quarter that of steel.<br \/>\nAs an indispensable key material in fields such as aerospace, high-end equipment, and new energy, ultra-high strength carbon fiber has long been a critical competitive frontier in global materials science. According to the head of the research and development team, this ultra-high strength carbon fiber boasts a tensile strength increase of over 14% compared to the previous generation T1100-grade fiber. Leveraging its extreme lightness and high strength, it can achieve weight reduction of over 10% in related equipment and holds vast application prospects in strategic emerging industries such as commercial aerospace, the low-altitude economy, and humanoid robots.<br \/>\nCrucially, this globally launched T1200-grade ultra-high strength carbon fiber is not just a laboratory sample; it is an industrial product with mass production capabilities at the hundred-ton level, filling the global gap in the scaled production of ultra-high strength carbon fiber. This breakthrough not only enables China to possess core independent intellectual property rights for high-end carbon fiber but also establishes a comprehensive self-sufficient supply system covering the entire carbon fiber series from T300-grade to T1200-grade, providing a solid material guarantee for the development of critical sectors.<br \/>\nHow Strong is T1200-grade Carbon Fiber?<br \/>\nCorrosion Resistance: Carbon fiber undergoes carbonization at temperatures approaching nearly 2000\u00b0C during production, rendering its chemical properties very stable. When a metal sheet and a piece of carbon fiber fabric are placed in &#8220;aqua regia&#8221; (a mixture primarily containing hydrochloric and nitric acid), the metal sheet immediately reacts violently, while the carbon fiber fabric shows no change even after being immersed for a while.<br \/>\nStrong Fire and Flame Retardancy:<br \/>\nSubjected to a blowtorch fire test, the carbon fiber fabric glows red hot in the middle but does not emit smoke or ignite, demonstrating excellent safety performance.<br \/>\nThe Strongest, Finest, and Lightest Carbon Fiber:<br \/>\nViewed under an electron microscope at 800x magnification, a human hair, covered in scales, measures about 67 microns in diameter, whereas the T1200-grade carbon fiber filament is less than 4.5 microns in diameter. A carbon fiber rope, made by twisting together 120,000 individual filaments, would theoretically have a diameter of less than 2 millimeters when tightened.
