The vessel is equipped with two decks of cabins and is constructed with carbon fiber composite materials. Compared with aluminum ships, it reduces the structural weight by more than 20%. The hull is light in weight, low in energy consumption and has a long cruising range, which can meet the requirements of charging at night every day and continuous operation during the day.
The “Haizhu Bay” 4: Asia’s longest carbon fiber high-speed passenger ship, was launched in Guangzhou in 2021. It has a total length of 42.8 meters, a width of 10.8 meters, can carry 260 people, and a speed of over 37 knots. Its carbon fiber hull is manufactured using one-time vacuum forming technology. Compared with traditional aluminum alloys, it is lighter in weight, faster in speed, lower in energy consumption, and can save more than 30% of fuel.
The “New Pearl 3” : The largest carbon fiber vessel in China in terms of passenger capacity, was launched in Nansha, Guangzhou in November 2024. The ship is 44.75 meters in length, 11 meters in width, with a designed speed of 26 knots. When fully loaded, its maximum speed can reach 33 knots, and its maximum passenger capacity is 500. The entire vessel is made of high-tech carbon fiber materials and is equipped with lithium battery packs and solar energy storage panels. It can safely navigate in wind conditions of force 8 and is a new generation of environmentally friendly new energy ships.
Carbon fiber Yacht 2: For instance, the two-masted super yacht “Barnama” built by Baltic features a sandwich structure with carbon fiber/epoxy resin as the skin and Nomex honeycomb and CorecellTM structural foam as the core materials for the hull and deck. The hull is 60 meters long, but the total weight is only 210 tons.

Carbon fiber propellers and propulsion shafting systems 2: They can reduce the vibration effect and noise of the hull and are mostly used in reconnaissance ships and fast cruise ships. Carbon fiber has excellent strength and corrosion resistance, and can work stably in Marine environments. Compared with traditional material propellers and propulsion shaft systems, it has a longer service life and can improve the propulsion efficiency of ships.
Carbon fiber rope 2: It is often used in the mooring lines of ships, etc. Carbon fiber not only has a tensile modulus higher than that of steel and tensile strength several times or even dozens of times higher, but also has the weaving property of fibers. Using it as the base material to make carbon fiber ropes can make up for the deficiencies of steel wire ropes and organic polymer ropes, and ensure the safety and reliability of ship mooring and other operations.
